Twitter 2022! – A Roundup Of All Major Feature Releases
Twitter in 2022 is nothing short of a blockbuster. There have been a lot of new features which become instant crowd favorites and some which received poor responses. Twitter absorbed all and improved as a better platform than before.
Of course, Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover made more headlines than all of the feature launches by Twitter in the year 2022. If you are a regular Twitter user, you would have been overwhelmed with all of the Twitter developments in 2022. Now, at the end of the year, we look back and bring you all the major and important developments/ features from Twitter. We recommend you to try the below features in the new year if you have not tried already in 2022,
Twitter Circles
Twitter Circles is a feature that gives you more control over your Twitter experience. So, how exactly does a Twitter Circle work? You can add a maximum of 150 members to your Twitter Circle and share tweets specifically with them. You can also control who interacts with your tweet and can limit sharing your tweet without your permission.
An account user can create only one Twitter circle for themselves. Account added in Twitter Circle will carry a green badge on display. This will help to identify the members of the circle easier. With Twitter Circle, it is easier for businesses to pass information and act organized. In the same way, this gives great control to a user over the content sharing preferences.
Twitter Communities
The ‘Community’ feature is very similar to the ‘Groups’ feature on Facebook. However, it is not exactly the same as ‘Facebook Groups’, and the ‘Community’ feature has its own advantages.
When you click on the Communities option in the pane, you will be listed with the set of Communities you are a part of. You can tweet to any respective Community based on your interest. A tweet sent to one Community will be in the Community timeline for every member of the Community to see. The tweet will not be sent to your followers’ timelines. Instead, the tweets will be sent to the Community members’ timelines. Tweets sent to a Community will not be shown on your Twitter profile too.
Remember Communities are public and hence, anyone who is visiting your Community page can see your tweet. Even if he is not a member of your Community.
Twitter Professional Account
‘Professional Accounts’ will have a set of features that are not available to regular accounts. These features focus on improving your brand, business, and sales through Twitter. For instance, Professional accounts will be enabled with more ready-made options to promote and advertise their product to their target audience.
When you make your account a ‘Professional Account’, it enables the user to differentiate and identify your account and your product. So, if you are a business account on Twitter that hasn’t converted your account yet, we advise you to do that. Also, Twitter does not charge users for using ‘Professional Accounts’.
Twitter Notes
‘Twitter Notes’ feature is the answer to the platform’s long-pending inability to allow long forms. Twitter users resort to using threads to overcome this deficit on Twitter.
Twitter has been trying to bring in a feature to fix this deficit since 2016. Only in 2022, this idea got materialized in the form of ‘Twitter Notes’. With Twitter Notes, users can easily write long form articles and share them on Twitter. This option also enables the user to add images and other media to their ‘Twitter Notes’.
Twitter Blue
Twitter Blue is Twitter’s paid service to its users and is now set at 8 dollars per month for users opting for it. If you are a business or someone looking to have a superior Twitter experience, you can definitely give this a try.
Twitter Blue users will directly receive a ‘Blue tick’ and there wont be any verification process. The Twitter algorithm will automatically prioritize posts, replies, and mentions of Twitter Blue users when displaying. This automatically gives an advantage to Twitter Blue users and their businesses. Subscribers will also be seeing lesser ads during their Twitter usage, 50 percent of what normal users will see. Also, any new feature debuting on Twitter will first be released to Twitter Blue users and then only to all users.
Twitter Shop
Twitter has rolled out multiple features to support business doers in 2022. One of the most useful of them is ‘Twitter Shop’. This feature lets a business owner to list a maximum of 50 of his/ her products. When someone visits the ‘View Shop’ option on the profile page, they will be able to see the products and can even initiate a purchase.
Right now, most sellers are not aware of this feature and hence this feature remains under utilized. So, if you are a local business, then this option can massively boost your sales.
Twitter Safety Mode
Safety Mode is one of the most underrated feature launches from Twitter in 2022. If you have already used ‘Twitter Safety Mode’, you would be aware of how it improves your Twitter experience. Twitter usage becomes more pleasant with Safety Mode.
For the people who are not aware of Twitter Safety Mode, this feature when enabled, automatically finds the chances of negative engagements. Twitter takes a lot of parameters into consideration before flagging such scenarios. In those cases, Twitter automatically blocks the owner of the flagged tweet. When this feature blocks an account, the primary user will not see any tweet from the flagged account for a period of one week. Unless otherwise, the primary account user unblocks the flagged user for wrong flagging.
Conclusion
2022 has been a great year for Twitter on the whole. In fact, Twitter never saw so many feature releases in previous years like 2022. Twitter already has a lot of plans in their pipeline for 2023 and we can expect an eventful year ahead.
