Tweetfull Newsletter 3/1/2023: 5 Profile Mistakes to Avoid
Your losing hundreds of followers if your profile sucksIt’s a bit harsh, yes, but think about it… If someone followed you or even engaged with your tweets. Then you were curious who that person was, checked his profile, then you found Nothing. You didn’t find anything about his profile. You don’t what that person or brand does, or what value can you get from that person. You didn’t even find anything in common with that person! So, what do you think you’ll do? You’d probably ignore that account and go on with your day. Actually, I’m seeing a ton of accounts wasting the opportunity to get followers just because their profiles suck. That’s why today, I’ll show you the top 5 profile mistakes you should avoid so you can get more followers with your profile alone. #1 It’s an empty space I kid you not. I’m seeing a ton of Twitter profiles without anything in it. ZERO. It’s like oblivion in that Twitter profile. What do you do? Are you even real? Is this a bot? Sometimes bots have even better profiles because at least they have something there (even though it’s nonsense) So please, put something. Anything. If you like hotdogs, put hotdogs. Don’t leave it blank. #2 There’s a barrage of hashtags #what #if #you #saw #something #like #this #in #a #Twitter #profile? It hurts right? I mean, imagine seeing something like that. You’d probably run. As much as possible, keep your hashtags to 1-2. It’s either your main topic, or your own hashtag Like #TomTalks or #TwitterTom (if you like something like this let me know 😉) #3 You look like a looney tunes character I’m not saying you look like a looney tunes character. What I’m saying is your profile looks entirely like somebody else. Remember, people follow real people. Unless you already have a personal brand where you don’t really show your face. Otherwise, use your real face. Your chances of getting more followers will be higher. #4 The “Convert or You’ll die” approach I know Call-to-Actions are important, but please, don’t shove it down your potential followers. Don’t start your profile with “Follow me for (blah blah blah)”. Instead of them following you, I’m pretty sure they’ll do their absolute best to NOT follow you. Keep that in mind. #5 You don’t have a link You don’t need to have a website if you don’t have one. As long as you have a place where your potential followers can check more about what you do, or who you are, then you’re good. With this approach, you give them the opportunity to explore what you do and what you can offer. This opens the possibility of them bringing revenue to your business if you have one. Now that you know these 5 mistakes, make sure you check your profiles after you read this email. You might be losing hundreds and thousands of followers just because your profile sucks. I’m not saying your profile sucks. But if you’re making these 5 mistakes, then your profile sucks. Follow us if you want to learn more about Twitter strategies.
