Tweetfull Newsletter 1/16/2023: 9 Metrics to Monitor
Welcome to Tweetfull’s Winner Circle! Where we give you tips, trends, and strategies to grow your Twitter account every week.
Today we’ll be covering 9 metrics you need to monitor so you can track your Twitter performance every week.
Let’s get to it!
- Top Tweets
This will be the first thing you’ll see on your Twitter Analytics Dashboard.
This will show your most popular tweet for the month, or week (depending on your chosen date range). You’ll also see how much engagement it got. (More on engagement later)
Why this matters: This shows you what your audience like the most. If you see a pattern of the same content type each week, double down on that.
- New followers
They are people who are new to your tribe.
Why this matters: Interacting with new followers increases the likelihood of getting a response because you’re still top of mind.
This also helps you create a great first impression because you care about new people who follow you.
- Top Followers
This is the person who recently followed you with the most followers.
Why this matters: This can be an opportunity for collaboration if you have the same audience. This is also a way to track the influencers in your network.
- Followers Gained/Lost
This is the number of followers you gained/lost in a specific date range.
Why this matters: You’ll be monitoring this metric 95% of the time, together with your engagement. It will be one of your key metrics to look out for weekly & monthly.
- Likes
Basically the number of people who liked your tweets.
Why this matters: Likes may not be as important as retweets/replies, but it shows you how your audience perceives your content. If they like it enough to leave a like, then that’s a good sign.
- Replies & Retweets
This is when someone replies or “shares” your content to their feed.
Why this matters: Replies & Retweets are a way to connect with your audience while increasing the people who see your content at the same time.
If someone replies/retweets your content, make sure you interact with it so you can keep the engagement going.
- Link Clicks
The number of people that clicks your links.
Why this matters: High link clicks mean your audience is interested in what you offer. It also helps you monitor how well your content performs especially if the goal is to make them click on your link.
- Engagement
This covers everything from likes to follows, to profile visits, to replies, and basically all of the interactions in your tweets.
Why this matters: Engagement is important because it’s your basic overview of how your tweets are performing.
It can show you which content works, and which doesn’t in a quick glance.
- Engagement Rate
Bear with me with this quick math. Engagement rate is: Engagements / Impressions = Engagement rate
Why this matters: Engagement rate is another good indicator of how your tweets are performing. If you’re constantly tweeting but nobody’s really engaging with it, that might be a sign – stop wasting your time.
A good engagement rate on average is 0.5%. If you’re at 1%+, then you’re definitely a Twitter rockstar.
Tracking your Twitter performance shouldn’t be complicated.
If you take note of these 9 metrics, you’ll be able to optimize and tweak your strategy to further improve your growth.
