“Unfollow the people you are following that are not worth following.”
Imagine the amount of following count that would increase when you keep following the accounts that are not following you back or not engaging with you on a regular basis. These kinds of accounts are only adding up to the number of following, thus it is better to get rid of them.
Using the Unfollow Campaign feature, you can quickly filter out such accounts at once. Creating this Campaign is quite a matter of two minutes! You just need to check some boxes and it will be all taken care of.
From the Dashboard of TweetFull, select the “Add Campaign and choose “Unfollow” option.
A screen will open asking you to fill in some fields.
Let’s have a quick look at each of the fields and what kind of details they demand to be entered.
Give your Campaign a name that is easy for you to remember. You can type in anything that you like - for example, Joy’s Unfollow Campaign. This name will appear as the headline in the Campaigns dashboard, so be sure that you write a name by which you can easily differentiate between various promotions.
These can also be referred to as niche keywords, which are important for your account. This field can be utilized when you do not wish to unfollow certain people.
For example, if you type in the keywords ‘photography’ and ‘street photography’, accounts who have these keywords in their bio will be whitelisted and will not be unfollowed.
This is the ratio that considers the number of followers and following of the Twitter accounts. It is quite natural that only some accounts will be having a high followers count while some will be following a lot of people. Not all the accounts will have a balanced ratio.
Hence, it is suggested to leave this box as it is, if you are not clear about what you want the ratio to be.
Suppose you do not wish to unfollow accounts having a specific number of followers. You can select your desired number and we will not unfollow the people who fall in that range.
Similar to the Followers count, the following count helps when you do not want to unfollow people with a definitive following. Choose a fine range according to your niche and we will ignore the accounts that come in that scale.
Using this, you can refine the people on the basis of tweets that they have made so far using their accounts. This is a good option to filter out and unfollow the spam or inactive accounts. Spam accounts may have an unreal amount of tweets whereas inactive ones might have limited tweets.
You can go for a range between 100-20k ideally, and we will not unfollow anyone having tweets amidst that number.
Here, you can choose the people to unfollow considering the age of their Twitter accounts. You can avoid new accounts as they can follow you back anytime soon.
We recommend that you not unfollow people who have already started to follow you back. Checking this box will make sure that such accounts are not disturbed.
When you are satisfied with your settings, click on “Save All”, and your Campaign will go live! You can view it anytime from the dashboard and check the activities.
Why is it inevitable to create an ‘Unfollow Them’ Campaign?
It is quite a necessary process to unfollow people after some time, because if you do not do so, you will not be able to follow new accounts and engage with new people.
Some Twitter guidelines that need to be remembered:
If you have less than 5000 followers, the maximum you can follow is 5000 accounts.
If you have more than 5000 followers, you’ll be limited to follow a specific 10% more accounts than that. For example, if you have 10000 followers, you will be allowed to follow 11000 people. According to recent studies, the percentage might be lower than that too.
You are limited to follow 1000 accounts per day, but it is never fixed. Twitter has stopped people from different numbers ranging from 100 to 500 follows per day. Thus, it is ideal to follow less than 100 accounts in a day.
You may also be limited to follow people when your followers to following ratio is more than 200%.
There are a lot of other guidelines regarding the following policies on Twitter’s policy page. Thus, to maintain healthy Followers to Following ratio and to keep following relevant people, it is good to unfollow inactive, spam, and the non-convertible accounts from time to time.
