The topic wasn’t exciting. The creator wasn’t famous. But that first\u00a0tweet? It was perfect.

I had to know why it worked.

So I dug into our database of 23,847 viral tweets. The pattern was clear: viral first tweets break three common rules.

Rule #1: They start with tension<\/strong>
Most people start with “Thread about…” or “Here’s how to…” Viral tweets start with conflict, surprise, or curiosity.

Rule #2: They make specific promises

Instead of “Tips to grow your audience” They say “How I went from 0 to 4,731 followers in 30 days”

Rule #3: They speak to one person<\/strong>

Not “Everyone struggles with growth” But “If you have less than 1,000 followers, this is for you”

I tested this pattern myself. My engagement tripled.
